Meghan Markle and Prince Harry nicknamed 'Monica and Chandler' by royal staff
MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry have been nicknamed “Monica and Chandler” by royal staff, it has been claimed.
Meghan Markle branded 'controlling' by her father
Meghan and Harry have reportedly been nicknamed after the Friends characters following claims of Meghan’s difficult behaviour. In the series, Monica is a control freak while Chandler is more easy-going. The names represent the latest in a string of claims about Meghan’s behaviour.
The nicknames, reported by the Daily Mail, come after Meghan faced the resignations of two key members of staff since her royal wedding in May.
There were also reports of tensions with the Duchess of Cambridge over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress, leaving Kate “in tears”.
Kensington Palace denied claims of another row over Meghan’s treatment of Kate’s staff.
Ahead of Meghan’s Windsor wedding, royal aides reportedly had to refuse the bride’s request to use air fresheners in St George’s Chapel.
And the Queen is said to have pulled Harry aside for a word about Meghan after he shouted at staff in the run-up to their Windsor wedding.
Writing in his new biography of Prince Charles, royal author Robert Jobson said: “In the build-up to the wedding, says an inside source, he was ‘petulant and short-tempered’ with members of staff.
“Raising his voice on occasion, Harry would insist: ‘What Meghan wants, she gets.'"
But Meghan’s estranged father Thomas Markle has insisted that his daughter has never been rude, despite being “controlling”.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Mr Markle admitted that Meghan has “always been in charge”.
The retired award-winning lighting director said: "She has always been a very controlling person and that is part of her nature but she has never been rude.
"The ghosting I don't completely understand - she's always been in charge, that's her nature, but not been rude."
Mr Markle pleaded with his daughter to get in touch following the royal wedding fallout.
Meghan’s father was due to walk Meghan down the aisle but he had to pull out due to health reasons.
It came shortly after it was revealed that Mr Markle had staged paparazzi photos.
Mr Markle said: "I love you very much, you're my daughter and I would really like to hear from you.
"Whatever differences we have, we should be able to work them out."
Thomas Markle pleas for daughter Meghan to 'reach out' to him
The 74-year-old agreed with host Piers Morgan that he had been “ghosted” by his daughter.
He added: "I'm very disappointed by it - I'm not sure why it's happening.
"This can't continue forever. I don't plan to be silent for the rest of my life.
"I love my daughter very much and she has to know that, and I would really appreciate if she would call me, just reach out to me. There has to be a place for me. I'm here, she knows it.”
