SARAH Ferguson looked the proud mum as she discovered a touching note in her car from Princess Eugenie and Beatrice on a night out - reaffirming an already close relationship between the Duchess of York and her daughters.

Fergie, 59, was in London for the unveiling of Claridge’s Christmas tree last night, which was inspired by her best friend Princess Diana’s “passion and stong belief in the power of love”, according to the hotel’s website. And she inadvertently showed just how highly her daughters regard her when she was pictured in her car with a humbling post-it note stuck to the back of the front passengers seat. As Sarah Ferguson was pictured climbing into her car, the post-it note could be spotted in all its glory
The message, written on a bright pink post-it, it read: “I love you mummy xx”
Judging from the crumpled edges of the note, it may have been posted at an earlier date – meaning it might be a keepsake of the Duchess of York, reminding her of Eugenie and Beatrice wherever she goes.
Fergie was out to party at the unveiling of Claridge’s Christmas tree, which was designed and made in collaboration with fashion designer Diana von Furstenberg.
The Claridge’s Christmas tree is six metres tall and adorned with glass sphere baubles, 8,000 hand painted silver leaves and 150 hand blown glass hearts.
The Duchess of York partied the night away with celebrities, including Lady Sabrina Percy, Viscountess Weymouth and Alexa Chung.
The Duchess, the ex-wife of Andrew, the Duke of York, looked smart in a purple blouse and black mini skirt, paired with a waist belt and silver jewellery.
The Duchess of York has often made reference to her best friend Diana, the Princess of Wales, who was the inspiration behind the Claridges tree.
Diana is said to have played a hand in matchmaking Sarah with Prince Andrew while attending a polo tournament in Windsor.
The Duchess of York has said that she misses the People’s Princess’ “laughter and sense of humour” the most.
Royal Wedding: Sarah Ferguson arrives with Beatrice
And recent reports claimed that an apparent rift between Meghan Markle and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, is similar to a rift experienced by Fergie and Diana in the nineties – because the “engaging characters” are “so far apart”.
There is said to be “tension” between the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex, following the confirmation Meghan and Harry will be moving away from Kensington Palace to Frogmore House in Windsor.
But Royal expert Robert Johnson said that the comparisons with Diana and Sarah's relationship were unfounded, though.
The royal correspondent for the Evening Standard said: “Fergie and Diana – until the last year of her life – were very good friends.
“In fact, Diana bought Fergie into the royal family, they had a real laugh and were friends."
