Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton 'don't really get on' - is this DIFFERENCE reason why?
MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry are set to move away from Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, sparking speculation of a rift between the two duchesses.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to move to Frogmore Cottage
Once described as the Fab Four, the Sussexes and the Cambridges will divide as Meghan and Harry leave Kensington Palace for their new Frogmore Cottage residence on the Windsor Estate. And it has been claimed that Kate, 36, and Meghan, 37, are not close. A source said to the Daily Mail: "Kate and Meghan are very different people. They don’t really get on."
However the source insisted that there had been no dramatic falling out.
Another royal insider added that there had also been tension between the brothers.
The source told the Sun: “The initial plan was for Harry and Meghan to move out of their cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace and into one of the main apartments.
"But there has been a bit of tension between the brothers."
But Meghan and Kate had very different lives before they joined the Royal Family.
Kate dated William for years before the pair wed, after they met when they were both studying at St Andrews University.
William’s wife had many years to prepare for her role before the couple married in 2011.
And Kate is from a close family who have adapted perfectly to life in the royal spotlight.
US-born divorcee Meghan did not have so long to get ready for her royal position.
A whirlwind romance with Harry saw the couple marry in May 2018 after meeting less than two years earlier in July 2016.
And members of Meghan’s family have repeatedly criticised her in public after they were not invited to her royal wedding, with her half-sister Samantha Markle set to release an explosive tell-all book next year.
Before she married Harry, Meghan had a successful career as an actress, starring in legal drama Suits.
Harry and Meghan: Expert reveals why they have moved home
Meghan had also spoken publicly of her strong political views, something she will be restricted from doing as a member of the Royal Family.
The speculation about a rift between the two women comes a year after Harry and Meghan gushed over William and Kate in their engagement interview.
Speaking in November 2017, Harry said: “And then William was longing to meet her and so was Catherine, so you know being our neighbours we managed to get that in a couple of - well quite a few times now and Catherine has been absolutely … Amazing, as has William as well.”
Meghan added the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had been “wonderful”.
Harry and Meghan confirmed their move to Windsor ahead of the birth of their first child in spring 2019 in a statement released last week.
Kensington Palace said in a statement said: “Windsor is a very special place for Their Royal Highnesses and they are grateful that their official residence will be on the estate.”
