Royal SPLIT: How Kate Middleton's mother was 'BLAMED for Prince William separation'
KATE Middleton and Prince William’s "trial separation" in 2004 could have been due to her family background, a royal expert has claimed.

Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed Prince Louis into their growing family earlier this year. They have been happily married for seven years now and are the proud parents of three children, with Louis joining Prince George and Princess Charlotte. However, their relationship hit a bump in the road when they had a period of separation after they finished university.
The pair reportedly had a “trial separation” as the Prince wanted space after finishing his studies.
Recalling the moment, The Sun's former Royal Editor Duncan Larcombe has a different opinion on why the couple split in 2004.
In “William & Kate: The Journey”, available on Amazon Prime, he reveals that Kate’s “family background” might have played a part.
According to Larcombe, members of the royal circle used to cruelly poke fun at the Duchess of Cambridge behind her back.
He says: “They used to say ‘doors to manual’ whenever they saw Kate Middleton."
This, he claims, was a reference to her mother Carole's former career as an airline hostess.
Although the palace vigorously denies that the Middleton’s background played a role, Larcombe says: “One or two people in William’s inner circle may have that view."
In the documentary, Lucie Cave, Editor of Heat Magazine, claims the couple's "separation" made people see the couple in a new light.
She adds: “It made you realise that, actually, they are human beings."
Kate reportedly “let her guard down” around friends at the time of the split.
However, Ms Cave notes that, in public, the future Duchess “remained dignified throughout".
