OnePlus' new smartphone should be its most powerful yet
OnePlus is set to reveal its most powerful smartphone to date.
The Chinese phone maker scored a surprise hit with its OnePlus 3 smartphone, which won plaudits for its powerful hardware and low price, and was widely thought to be planning the launch of its next device, the highly-anticipated OnePlus 3T.
And now official confirmation of this new handset appears to have been revealed by American chipmaker Qualcomm.
Qualcomm's tweet confirms the OnePlus 3T will feature an incredibly fast Snapdragon 821 processor
Qualcomm, which makes the Snapdragon processors found in many of the world's leading Android devices, tweeted from its official account, "Something new from @OnePlus is on the way…and it’s powered by our #Snapdragon 821 processor. Stay tuned."
This was accompanied by the above picture of the company's Snapdragon mascot next to the OnePlus logo.
There was no further information about the release date of the new OnePlus device, but the tweet suggests it must now be imminent.
The inclusion of the Snapdragon 821, Qualcomm's most powerful processor at the moment, means that the OnePlus 3T should feature incredibly fast speeds, and will be equipped with Google's new Android Nougat 7.0 and Daydream Virtual Reality system.

Reports have already claimed that the OnePlus 3T will also drop the AMOLED display seen in the original OnePlus 3 for an LCD panel, allowing for brighter and sharper images, giving a boost for media and gaming fans.
However the inclusion of this updated hardware will come at a price, as sources suggests that the OnePlus 3T will cost as much as $80 more than its older sibling.
