There's nothing worse than having mounds of washing to do in winter but worrying about how and where to dry your clothes. Or realising the top or trousers you need for work were washed, but are still damp because they're taking ages to dry. Enter this really nifty heated clothes airer drying pod from DrySoon, which is on Amazon at the moment for a little over £100.

And while £109.99 may seem like a bit more to shell out for a clothes dryer, this is a really decent investment during the colder months. It holds up to 12 hangers and circulates hot air around to dry clothes quickly, meaning your laundry doesn't linger for days in a state of dampness, which can leave it smelling mouldy.

Its drying method can reduce creases - which can also mean less ironing time for certain garments. It's also perfect for more delicate garments, so there's no more hanging copious amounts of clothes around the house waiting for them to dry.

Another positive is that the AirSoon dryer is portable, and with a weight of just  3.47kg (without clothes hanging in it), you can carry it around and plug it in in any room in the house you needed. It has a 10kg capacity too, which means you can dry a decent amount of laundry at once.

To use it you pop your garments on hangers, hook them on to the rails, fit the fabric cover around them, zip it up and switch it on. There's an optional timer you can set for up to three hours, which then automatically switches off when the time is up. But you don't need to stick to that drying time, you can check drying progress as you go too.

With a 4.3 star average out of some 2,100 ratings, there are a host of happy buyers. One person enthused: "So happy with purchase; good quality, great drying time and no ironing!" Someone else said: "I have waved goodbye to the nightmare of wet clothes for days in my home" - and they also pointed out that the pod heats up any room its in too.

There are also cost benefits - which one happy buyer explained, writing: "It's very quiet, and very easy to move. And is very easy to put together, and put away, it all goes in the small box provided, so doesn't take up hardly any space. It's also very cheap to run. For 2 hours about 50p. Much better than my expensive tumble dryer. I'm happy with it."

Some negatives include one user pointing out: "The control unit and zipper are fiddly and difficult to access at the bottom on the unit unless you are able to sit down at a very low height." Another person said "the legs are very flimsy".

You can peruse other air dryers too as there are a few other options on the market. For something with with a slightly different design, you could opt for the Dry:Soon Winged Heated Clothes Airer, which costs £79.99 from Lakeland. There is also a clothes dryer pod on Dunelm for £55
