Amazon is gearing up for its two-day Prime Big Deal Days next week on 8 and 9 October, but we’ve spotted a great deal on the latest Kindle ereader that’s hard to ignore. The large-screen Kindle Scribe has just gone on sale with a massive 31 percent discount - according to price comparison site Camelcamelcamel, it’s the lowest ever price the device has been sold for by Amazon UK.

The Amazon Kindle Scribe is £100 off in a limited time deal. You can get the clever, large-screen ereader for £239, 31 percent off the RRP of £329.99.

It's not just for reading books - the included pen lets you notate any book from the Kindle Store, and there's a notebook function to write and draw to your heart's content.

The Kindle Scribe is currently just £229 in a ‘limited time deal’ on Amazon, which is £100 off the £329.99 RRP. These limited deals don’t last long, and nor does Amazon say how long they will be around, so if you want to take advantage it’s best to act now.

One of the perks of Amazon’s limited time deals is you don’t need to be subscribed to Amazon Prime - unlike for next week’s Big Deal Days, which require a Prime subscription to unlock all the sale prices.

The Kindle Scribe is Amazon’s newest and largest ereader with a frontlit 10.2-inch display so you can read in the dark. But the Scribe’s unique feature among Kindles is that you can write on the screen with the included pen. You can create full-page notebooks and use the Scribe as your digital notebook, ditching paper once and for all.

But this is a Kindle after all, so you also get access to Amazon’s Kindle Store that’s full of all the latest novels, non-fiction and all-time bestsellers from thousands of authors. Once you’ve bought a book, you can read it on the big screen but also notate and scribble your thoughts as you go using little digital sticky notes that attach to the part of the text you want to note about.

The device itself has a slender metal metal design and is asymmetrical so you can hold it in either hand, the text rotating automatically to display the right way up. The 16GB Kindle Scribe with the Basic Pen is usually £329.99, so this huge £100 saving is a very good price.

With the pen you can convert your handwritten notes into text, download and notate directly onto PDFs or even create sticky notes on Microsoft Word files thanks to full integration with the popular app. On top of all that, the Scribe has the longest battery life of any Kindle to keep you read for hours on end between charges.

Of course, there are other, cheaper Kindles available though the Scribe is the only one on sale at the time of writing. If you want a smaller, more pocketable Kindle you can check out the full Amazon Kindle range here.
