Fire TV Stick fans who haven't refreshed their devices in a while might want to check out some new deals from Amazon. The online retailer has confirmed the launch of a surprise sale event (no, it's not Prime Day or Black Friday), which has cut the cost of three of its newest streaming devices. Even the all-new Fire TV Stick HD, which only launched last month, has received a cost cut, with it now starting from just £25.99.

Amazon's top Fire TV Stick, the 4K Max offers Wi-Fi 6E for faster streaming, more storage, an Alexa Voice Remote Enhanced and the best experience of all the streaming sticks.

For that low price, Fire fans get a device with a super slimline design, better performance for faster app launching and, for the first time, it features the ability to plug into the USB-A port on the back of televisions for power. That means you don't need mains access to get it working.

That's a good offer, but the TV Stick HD isn't the only deal available. There's also money off the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, which offers access to pin-sharp ultra HD content along with a fast processor, support for Dolby Atmos audio, and compatibility with Wi-Fi 6 technology for faster streaming speeds. That means there's much less chance of buffering.

One final deal is available on the even more impressive 4K Max, which is the best performing of the bunch thanks to Wi-Fi 6E and is the only Stick to get the clever Ambient Experience, which transforms TVs into giant works of art.

Before tapping the buy button, it's worth noting that other retailers, including Argos and Currys, are stocking Amazon's Fire TV Sticks at a much lower price.

In fact, the older Fire TV Stick HD from 2024 is now just £24.99.

There's also the 4K model for £39.99.

These deals could definitely be worth checking out if your Fire TV Stick is very old, as HBO Max is about to stop working on some devices.

For those not aware, HBO Max recently launched in the UK and offers access to a vast library of content for a small monthly fee. Prices start at £4.99 and offers acclaimed HBO originals, Warner Bros. films, DC content, and reality TV from Discovery.

Sadly, anyone with a Fire TV Stick running Fire OS 5 or earlier will no longer be able to watch, as support for this operating system was recently discontinued.

"You can stream HBO Max on phones, tablets, computers, TVs, streaming players, set-top boxes, and game consoles," HBO's page states.

"Support includes Amazon Fire TV devices with Fire OS 6 or later - Vega OS 1 or later."

Devices affected by this new block include the hugely popular Fire TV Stick (2nd-gen), which is thought to be one of Amazon's biggest ever sellers.
