Spotify announces launch of new feature with emojis reaction free to all users
Spotify users can start sharing their favourite Taylor Swift songs easily - and other artists you love too, of course!

Spotify has introduced a new feature that enables users to interact directly with each other. The streaming service says listeners have expressed interest in having "a dedicated space within the app to share songs, podcasts, or audiobooks" with the Swedish firm now given them just that.
In an official blog post, Spotify announced that starting this week, its new Messages feature will begin rolling out to both Free and Premium users aged 16 and over, in select markets on mobile devices. This feature supports one-on-one conversations, allowing users to share Spotify content and respond with text or emojis. Spotify previously offered a messaging function, but it was discontinued in 2017 due to low engagement, according to Reuters.

They list that you can also benefit from the following:
- Share Spotify content and start a message in-app with people you’ve interacted with before through Spotify
- When listening to a song, podcast, or audiobook in the Now Playing View, tap the share icon, select a friend, and hit send
- Once you accept a message request, you’ll be able to react with emojis, send texts, and seamlessly share Spotify content back and forth. Access Messages by going to your profile photo in the top left corner
Additionally, users will see suggested people to message based on factors such as past Spotify content sharing, participation in Jams, Blends or collaborative playlists - or being part of the same Family or Duo plan.
The firm clarifes that people should still share Spotify content directly through your other platforms like Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, TikTok stating "messages on Spotify are designed to complement these integrations, not replace them."
They conclude: "This is just the beginning. We’re excited to continue building and refining the experience for more Spotify users around the globe in the months ahead."
