Ludicrously cheap £69 Android phone is far better than its low price suggests
Motorola is back with another budget Android device and, despite some pretty impressive features, it only costs £69.99.
Motorola already offers a very good smartphone for under £100 with its £89.99 G04 impressing Express.co.uk in our recent review. Now the famous tech firm is back with something that's even cheaper. The all-new e14 will set you back just £69.99 (that's over 10 times less than a Galaxy S24) and don't be fooled by that ludicrously low price as this Android call maker actually packs a pretty impressive punch.

For your money, you get a device that includes a bright 6.56-inch ultra-wide display that even features a 90Hz refresh rate for speedy scrolling - incredibly, that's better than the premium iPhone 15 which only gets a 60Hz refresh rate.
Motorola is also boasting that this screen gets a special High Brightness mode which helps boost the visuals and makes things easier to see in the summer sunshine. It even switches between this setting automatically so you won't have to start digging into menus to activate it. When the sun sets, there's also a Night Light mode which is included to help reduce eye strain in dim light conditions.
If you are tuning into a Netflix box set on that big display, your evening's entertainment should be boosted via a Dolby Atmos-compatible speaker as well.
The e14 isn't covered in posh titanium or expensive stainless steel but Motorola says it still offers a premium feel in the hand and has been built to survive years in your pocket. The screen is covered in toughned Corning Gorilla Glass which should help avoid any cracks should you happen to drop it.
It's not fully waterproof but it can survive a sprinkling of rain or a drink being spilled on it when enjoying a summer pint in the pub. There's also a large 5000mAh battery inside which can be fast charged and it's powered by an octa-core processor.
Finally, those who enjoy snapping photos on their phone will find a single-rear camera on the case that gets AI features for improved images without needing to be a pro.
If any of that sounds enticing then the Moto e14 will go on sale this week in Graphite Gray, Pastel Green, and Pastel Purple.
It's priced at that ludicrously low £69.99 and will be available at stores including Currys, JLP, O2, GiffGaff, Tesco, Amazon, Argos and Motorola.co.uk.
It clearly won't beat Apple or Samsung when it comes to premium upgrades but it could be perfect for those not bothered by speed and performance.
