If you don't want to pay for music streaming then Spotify is a very good choice with this popular platform offering a totally free service along with its premium £9.99 offering. Those who choose not to subscribe will get access to millions of songs but it's not all good news as they can't listen offline, get lower-quality playback and have the experience interrupted by annoying adverts between tracks.

5 month offer for Prime members only

That can all be a little irritating but now there's a way to get ad-free tracks and the option to listen when not connected to the web without paying a penny this year.

Amazon has just announced the launch of its big Prime Day sale event which kicks off later next month. The online retailer is promising to slash prices across thousands of products for those with a Prime account.

And that's not the only reason to consider signing up for this service as Prime members are also being offered a whopping 5 months of Amazon Music Unlimited without paying a penny.

That means those signing up will get free music streaming until December. Even if you don't have Prime you can still take advantage although the freebie drops down to just three months rather than the full five.

For those not in the know, Amazon Music Unlimited offers access to millions of songs which are all advert-free and available in top-notch formats including stunning HD and Spatial Audio. This makes it appear as if the sound is hitting your ears from all directions so music sounds more immersive.

There are also free podcasts and you can listen to all of your playlists when offline - that's perfect for any long-haul holiday flights you may have on the horizon.

Prime Day itself kicks off on July 16 and expect plenty of deals on Amazon devices such as Fire TV Sticks along with discounts on products from Samsung, Sony and Bose.

“The countdown to the 10th Prime Day in the UK starts now, and we have a huge selection of deals to come,” said John Boumphrey, UK Country Manager of Amazon.

“We work really hard to deliver great products at the best prices for customers during Prime Day and throughout the year, from the biggest brands to the 100,000 small British businesses that sell on Amazon. With even faster deliveries and so many shopping, saving and entertainment benefits available, there has never been a better time to be a Prime member. Roll on Prime Day!"

Amazon isn't the only retailer offering a wave of summer deals, as we speak John Lewis and Samsung have also launched a range of discounts this summer.
