Away from the screen, Robson has a quiet life in Hexham, Northumberland where he resides in an idyllic 350-year-old cottage.

The little town of Hexham is beautiful and is home to a plethora of notable attractions including Hexham House, Sele Park, Hexham Old Gaol and the impressive Hexham Abbey which was built in 674 AD.

The TV star was born in the town but grew up in Dudley, a small mining village just south of the town of Cramlington in Northumberland.

The actor's home is believed to be located on the banks of the River Tyne and has stunning, rural surroundings.

Robson previously told Radio Times: "I've got Hadrian's Wall to the north and there are pheasants and deer in the garden every morning."

However, the property was tragically damaged by a flood in 2015 which meant he lost several personal belongings under a massive seven feet of water.

The cottage is perfect for Robson as its proximity to the River Tyne allows him to enjoy one of his favourite hobbies - fly fishing.

Since the flood, Robson's home has undergone several renovations and is now flood-proof.
