Britain's 'most desirable' neighbourhood where houses for sale get 80 viewings
This pretty suburb is just three miles from a busy city centre but feels worlds away thanks to its rolling countryside and million-pound homes.
This suburb has been named one of the UK's most desirable locations thanks to its close proximity to a busy city and countryside position.
Property experts from across the country spoke to the Mail about Britain's most desirable locations across the UK, and this West Yorkshire spot was top of the list.
Roundhay - just moments from Leeds city centre - is home to incredible properties and rolling green spaces, offering residents the perfect blend of living.
Tom Kirk, CEO at Preston Baker Estate Agent said: "With its excellent schools, thriving local shops and proximity to the vibrant amenities of Oakwood and Moortown, Roundhay provides an enviable lifestyle for families and professionals seeking a peaceful retreat within easy reach of the city."
It's known for its prestigious properties, with the average home selling for £426,795 - according to Zoopla. The area is particularly in demand with families, with plenty of good schools nearby.
Houses in the area reportedly have buyers queuing up with an average of 80 viewings each on homes for sale - which means there’s stiff competition if you want to call Roundhay home.
One homebuyer in a local Facebook group trying to buy in Roundhay posted that homes were selling for far above the asking, with waiting lists of more than 80 people just for viewing.
Others replied that getting offers in fast was key, with bidding wars commons for popular homes, reports LeedsLive.
It also has one of the biggest city parks in Europe, an array of independent boutiques, bars and restaurants, and is the catchment area for the "outstanding" Roundhay School, as rated by Ofsted.
Within the vast green space, you can find a children’s play park, The Lakeside café, tennis courts, and Tropical World – an array of greenhouses filled with exotic plants and animals.
Often, in the warmer weather, a pink and white ice cream van, is also parked near the car park so visitors can treat themselves to something sweet.
With so much natural beauty and plenty of attractions nearby, it’s no surprise that the park attracts almost a million visitors each year.
It's also just round the corner from Oakwood, another northeast suburb, that has a high street filled with bars and restaurants - and an Instagram-friendly cafe.
