Pet odour on carpet
Pop on some disposable gloves
Zoflora says: “These provide a hygienic barrier and allow you to get stuck into the problem without getting your hands dirty. Use them to remove the majority of the mess from the carpet area.”
Wipe the area with diluted Zoflora
You can wipe over the infected area with a damp cloth that has been soaked in diluted Zoflora. This will neutralise the odour while adding a scent of your choice to fill your home.
Pet odour on hard floor
Disinfect your hard surfaces
Zoflora says: “Pets may move around more areas of the home than other family members! This means that they also can spread any nasty bugs they’ve picked up from outside, so it’s important to be aware of this and disinfect areas that pets walk on at least once a week.”

Mop your floors with Zoflora
Using four capfuls of your chosen Zoflora fragrance, dilute this into a bucket or bowl with 1.5 litres of hot water.
This will not only disinfect the area, removing unwanted bacteria and germs but it will also leave the area free from pet odour.
Keep pets away after cleaning
This ultimately is one of the most important steps when using the disinfectant.
Zoflora says: “Don’t allow your beloved furry friends to walk on or lick any wet or treated areas until they are completely dry. Lock them out of the room until it is safe.”
Pet bedding and cages
Remove soft bedding
Before cleaning a pets cage, remove any soft bedding and toys, these should be washed in the usual way.
Zoflora said: “Just dilute some of your favourite Zoflora fragrance in water, soak a cloth in it and wipe down pet beds, baskets and cages with the solution.”
Don’t forget your toothbrush
For smaller areas that are hard to reach, using a toothbrush can help remove any hidden bacteria from nooks and crannies.
Allow to dry
Again another vital step when it comes to cleaning pet items.
Zoflora says: “Always allow items and pet areas to dry before allowing furry friends to come into contact with them”
There are a range of Zoflora disinfectants that are recommended for use around pets as they help eliminate odour.
These are in the scents Fresh Home Green Valley, Fresh Home Coastal Breeze and Fresh Home Mountain Air.
Zoflora can be picked up for as little as £1 from retailers like B&M and Home Bargains as well as now being stocked in popular supermarkets too.
When diluted 1:40, the sweet smelling product has proven to be efficient in killing against coronaviruses.
It has also been proven to be effective against other common household bacteria including E.coli, Salmonella, Listeria, and viruses such as Influenza-Type A.
