A cleaning expert has shared an easy white vinegar recipe you can apply to your windows to get them streak-free – as well as a secret button you can use to make polishing them easier.

Windows can be one of the trickiest parts of the house to clean. Whether it's stretching to those hard-to-reach corners or making sure not to miss a spot, they can prove a real challenge even for the most adept of cleaning enthusiasts.

However, one homecare influencer has shared her top tips to get gleaming windows. TikToker @cleaningwithdanielled regularly shares helpful hacks with her 1.9million followers. In a recent post, she reveals the three ingredients she mixes together and wipes on her windows to get them to shine.

"For streak-free windows, use a mixture of dish soap and water with a dash of white vinegar. Then use a window vac to suck up all the suds," she said.

"Then tidy up the window frames with a super-absorbent cloth."

She also revealed there's a secret button you can press to make cleaning windows all the easier. "At the bottom and the top of the window frame, you’ll notice this button that says ‘push’. Push the buttons down together and pull the window over to the left. This extends the window more open so it leaves a lovely big gap for you to fit your arm out and clean the outside of your upstairs windows."

She urged her followers to be 'super super careful' while leaning out of the window to make sure they don't fall. "Once you’re done just simply close the window and it’ll lock back into place," she said.

People were quick to praise Danielle's tips, with one writing: "DANIELLE!!! I didn’t know, thank you so much for this." Another chimed in: "OMG I NEVER KNEW"

Meanwhile a third advised: "Just a reminder: if you use dish soap, be careful it has no balm in it."

"THANK YOU. I was cleaning mine inside this morning, just moved in a month ago and forgot how you turn these in to clean them," said a fourth.
