Grout transformation disgusts cleaning enthusiasts as it 'wasn't really that colour'

If you’ve never cleaned your house properly, you might be horrified by the dirt and grime that’s actually lurking and has accumulated over the years.

If you’ve just run a cloth over your grout and not given it a good scrub, you may be amazed by how clean it can look.

But @cleanthatup took to TikTok to share an amazing transformation he’d recently done – and people in the comments were amazed by the results.

He captioned the video: “Tile and grout cleaning is so satisfying!”

He said: “Is this super dirty grout, or just the original colour?”

The grout in the tiles was a dark grey shade, but @cleanthatup had a feeling that the grout wasn’t actually supposed to be that colour.

He then sprayed cleaner on the grout, saying “well, let’s find out”.

At first, the grime didn’t budge, but when he “gave it a quick scrub and let it sit for a little bit”, he could “already tell things were changing”.

He said that he “wiped it with a towel”, and it became apparent that it “was dirty.”

“The original colour is tan”, he gushed, amazed at the transformation which happened before his very eyes.

In the comments, people were shocked by the transformation, with some concerned that whoever’s house it was had “paired wood with tan grout”.

One wrote: “Always so satisfying cleaning grout”.

Another penned: “My entire 600 sq ft apartment is old tile I don't want to know what colour the grout is supposed to be because I'm not cleaning all of it.”

“It’s never the original colour it’s always dirt”, someone joked.
