With so many products on the market, it can be hard to know which ones to use, especially when looking to achieve clear skin.

Luckily, skincare experts at Landys Chemist have shared how Britons can achieve “stunning glass-like skin” in five steps.

1. Double cleanse

The experts said: “Double cleansing is the pivotal first step in achieving that glass skin look.

“Begin your skincare routine by using an oil-based cleanser to wash away any makeup, impurities or excess oil.

“Using an oil-based cleanser will help to break down makeup and sebum, lifting impurities without stripping the skin of its natural oils, allowing you to just wipe them away.”

Follow this up with a water-based cleanser to remove any remaining residue and cleanse the skin without leaving it feeling dry.

2. Exfoliate the skin

Regular exfoliation of the skin can help to achieve the smooth texture associated with having glass skin.

This includes using chemical exfoliants such as AHAs and BHAs to help refine the skin’s surface by removing dead skin cells.

The experts noted: “As well as creating more even texture, consistent use of this process helps to minimise the appearance of pores and imperfections, another key characteristic of the glass skin trend.”

3. Hydrate for plumpness

Hydrating the skin is fundamental in achieving the plump and radiant skin everyone wants to achieve.

Britons can do this by incorporating serums which are rich in hydrating ingredients like glycerin or hyaluronic acid.

According to the pros, this helps to replenish moisture below the skin’s surface, creating a glowing complexion.

4. SPF

The experts continued: “By applying sun cream with a high SPF to your face daily, you shield the skin from exposure to UV rays which are harmful to the skin and cause premature ageing, hyperpigmentation and dullness.

“This helps in keeping the results of the previous steps, maintaining the youthful appearance associated with glass skin.”

5. Healthy lifestyle

As well as using products, adopting a healthy lifestyle is crucial in maintaining the look of glass skin.

This can be done by getting enough sleep each night, which contributes to skin regeneration, enhancing its clarity and radiance.

The pros added: “A balanced diet, specifically one rich in antioxidants, promotes skin health from within, obtaining a natural improvement in skin texture and anti-ageing effects.

“By nurturing the skin both internally and externally you have the best chance of achieving the complexion of glass skin.”
