Quitting your job doesn't have to be difficult.
Sometimes, you need to move on from the job you're in. Whether you don't enjoy your line of work and want a complete career shift, or you've simply found a better position with another company, it's not uncommon for people to move around in the corporate world.
But if you're looking to quit your job, how do you go about it without causing unnecessary drama at your workplace?
If you've had a bad experience, you might be tempted to speak your mind before you resign, but that's not always a smart idea - especially if you need your old employer to give your new one a glowing reference. Similarly, if you've had a great time, you might not want to make your boss think you're leaving because of something they've done.
Thankfully, one careers expert has shared a foolproof way to resign from any job without causing a fuss - and all you need to do is send off one carefully worded email.
In a video on TikTok, Erin McGoff shared an email template you can use whenever you want to resign from a job, which she claimed would help anyone quit without causing a major falling out between you and your employer.
The video simply showed the template written out on the screen, while Erin was pictured on the screen sitting at her computer.
And the template, which can be used for any job, reads: "Hello [manager name].
"I'm writing to notify you that I have made the decision to resign from my position as [role] and my last day will be [date]. I appreciate the opportunity to work here, and have learned a lot in this role.
"[If you liked your boss/experience, write some kind words here]. I wish you continued success in the future!
"Thank you, [your name]."

Commenters on Erin's video were quick to thank her for the template. Many of them said they would be using it the next time they want to quit their job to move on to something new.
One person said: "I swear my phone is listening to me. I was just thinking about how I was going to write my resignation letter, this is perfect!"
And another added: "Thank you! I think this was a sign for me!! I want to leave my toxic corporate job to start a doula business."
