A woman has been left in shock by her husband's reaction to her cooking.

The disgruntled wife thought she had performed a nice gesture for her spouse by making him dinner even though she "didn't particularly want to".

The man had asked his wife to make him eggs. Since the couple had four left at home, the woman assumed they would each get two and she decided to save hers for breakfast the next day.

However, the meal didn't turn out the way her husband had in mind – and he had a drastic reaction.

Rather than eating the meal or going to the shops to buy more, her husband said he was "entitled" to the reamining two eggs since he didn't like what she had cooked.

She wrote: "Dh (dear husband) wanted some eggs for dinner and called me out to make them for him, I didn't particularly want to but did. I got two out for him and the last two were for me which I was going to have tomorrow for breakfast.

"I made his eggs and they didn't turn out quite as he wanted so he moaned and thought this entitled him to my eggs. AIBU (am I being unreasonable) to think he should have cooked his own eggs and I shouldn't miss out because he got me to do it and didn't like the result.

"Or is he right and as I didn't do his eggs as he liked them I owe him mine?"

People sided with the hungry wife instantly and one even asked why she had agreed to make her husband's food for him in the first place. "So much wrong here I don't know where to start," one wrote.

Another added: "Why did you cook his eggs?", to which the poster responded: "Because he thought I'd do them better than he could but they didn't turn out well."

Meanwhile a third chimed in: "Are you a long way from any shops or on an extremely tight budget? If he wants the eggs then he can just pop out for more."

Another agreed: "He’s ungrateful and I wouldn’t cook for him again. He can go to the shop and get more."
