Nestlé Confectionery UK & Ireland has announced the limited return of Caramac, the beloved caramel-flavoured treat.

Fans were disheartened by its discontinuation last year, but their voices have been heard, and Caramac is making a temporary comeback.

Starting July 23, the classic Caramac bar, a three-bar multipack, and a sharing bag of Caramac buttons will be available nationwide while supplies last.

This release not only satisfies nostalgic cravings but also highlights Nestlé's dedication to its loyal customers, who have been taking to social media to call for the treat’s reinstatement.

Lisa Butterworth, Chocolate Classics Brand Manager for Nestlé UK & Ireland, shared the news, as well as the reason the confectionary giant decided to bring back Caramac.

She said: “The calls for the return of Caramac were heard loud and clear, and for this unique bar we wanted to create a special opportunity for fans to enjoy it once more.

“We hope that this limited release gives people the opportunity to savour and stock up on Caramac as a gesture of our appreciation for the longstanding support of our confectionery fans throughout the years.”

Nestle added: “While bidding farewell to Caramac, Nestlé Confectionery continues to innovate and bring exciting new products to the market. The continuous review of product performance allows Nestlé UK & Ireland to focus on new product development.”

The sweet treat, which is enveloped in its staple orange and gold wrapping, first appeared on UK shelves in 1959, launched by its original creator, Mackintosh's.

However, Nestlé, which acquired the brand in a 1998 takeover, noted that sales had "steadily declined" over recent years.

The Sky News Money blog recently asked fans which discontinued treats should come back to the market, receiving an outpouring of requests for Caramac.

One of the respondents, Jacqueline, said: "Please bring back the Caramac bar! It was by far my favourite and there's really nothing like it in the shops any more. I'd do anything to get my hands on one again!"

Hainan Gal echoed: "Bring back Caramac! It was totally different to anything else you can get."
