There's nothing like tucking into a good slice of pizza – and one chap's slices have got a lot of people talking.

He shared a snap of the cheesy dish, which he bought in Chicago on Reddit, and people had a lot to say about it. The savoury treat looked a little different to normal - having adopted the Chicago-inspired deep-dish recipe.

It almost looked like a pie, with the crust base being stuffed with lots of cheese and then topped with tomato sauce. While it may not look like a classic Italian pizza, many thought it looked pretty tasty, but it wasn't the recipe that got people talking.

In the comments section, attention was quickly drawn to the price, with one person writing: "Christ! $85 for 2 pies?? It looks good, but I don't know about $40 a pie."

Basically, this comes in at around £67 for the two pies in British currency. On the website, it states that some of the more expensive deep-dishes are sharable, but it hasn't stopped people from being shocked.

One person said: "No thank you." Another wrote: "Can someone enlighten me on what's so good about Chicago style pizza? They've always just seemed like way too much to eat for me. One of my favourite things about Italian pizza is that it's thin and light, this seems like the opposite."

A third replied: "That's like $5/slice. I was a large starving college kid. My friend and I wanted to split a large and the waitress said it was too much. We relented and got a medium and prepared to be hungry after the pizza. I had two slices and was absolutely stuffed."

Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "I love me Chicago deep dish (I live in the burbs of Chicago), but it's so expensive."

Despite the disbelief at the price, many were also quick to praise the pizza, claiming people simply had to try it. One even dubbed the dish the "greatest pizza" they've ever had.

One person wrote: "Some of the best I've had was from there." Another wrote: "That's the nicest slice of pizza I ever came across."

A third replied: "Their spinach deep dish is the one of the best things I've ever eaten." One more chimed in with: "Some of the best in the world."

So, despite the hefty price tag, it seems a lot of people think a slice of the pie is worth the money. It appears to be a pizza that could really bring your taste buds to life.

The only snag is - you need a full wallet to snap one up - as well as a very big appetite.
