A TV chef has revealed the perfect way to make crispy layered potatoes – but it takes 15 hours.

Poppy O'Toole, known for her regular culinary tips on ITV's This Morning and boasting over four million followers on TikTok, has shared her method for creating "perfectly crisp potatoes."

In one video, she showcases a "new and improved recipe," starting with thinly sliced peeled potatoes doused in beef dripping.

She instructs viewers to add "plenty of salt and give it a good mix" before layering the potato slices in a lined baking tin. The dish is then baked for three hours.

After removing it from the oven, she places three tins on top of the concoction to weigh it down for 10 to 12 hours, ensuring it stays compact. Once this time has passed, she slices the potato into chips and deep fries them until they are "golden and crispy".
