Mini Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 pricing has been revealed ahead of its release
Mini has released pricing for the new Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 2017.
The SUV is Mini’s first plug-in hybrid model which will launch in the UK on 24th June 2017.
Pricing for the Countryman will start at an on the road price of £31,538, but you could slash up to £4,500 off that cost thanks to the government grant for plug-in cars.
Powering the new hybrid, which can be driven in fully-electric mode, is a 3-cylinder petrol engine with Mini TwinPower Turbo Technology and a synchronous electric motor.
Together they generate a system output of 165kW/ 224hp , which enables the car to sprint from 0-62mph in 6.8 seconds.
Pairing with combustion engine, which powers the front wheels, is a six-speed Steptronic transmission while the electric motor powers the rear wheels.
Together, the power units create a four-wheel drive system ‘ALL4’ which allows the car to go off-road and tackle tricky terrains such as snow and sand.
When the car sets off the electric motor is immediately selected allowing emissions free driving. This motor has a range of 25 miles and will be active until the car’s speed exceeds 50mph.
Perhaps one of the only downsides of the electric motor on-board is its charge time which averages between two hours and 15 minutes and three hours and fifteen minutes.
The new hybrid crossover will cost from £31,538 before the Government grant
The powertrain produces a total system output of 165kW/ 224 hp
The high-voltage battery however comes with a warranty which lasts for six years or 60,000 miles.
Mini has housed the battery under the rear sear and flat load boot floor in a bid to minimise drawbacks to boot space and leg room.
Luggage compartment capacity in the Mini is 405-litres expandable to 1,275-litres with the seats folded down.

Included on all models is Satellite Navigation System, Bluetooth, Cruise Control, Emergency E-call and Active Guard among other features.
With the car tax about to shoot up for many Brits, the Cooper S E Countryman could be a sensible choice to keep running costs down.
We’re still not sold on its clunky looks but the features on-board and low-emissions hybrid powertrain certainly make the car much more appealing.
