Mick McCarthy shows strong side
MICK McCarthy will play a full-strength Wolves team against Tranmere after dropping 10 players for a controversial league defeat at Manchester United.
“It’s an important game and, although there will be some changes, we want to win,” said McCarthy “It will be as strong a team as I can pick. The first team, largely.” McCarthy was vindicated after the 3-0 loss to United by beating Burnley, with his strongest side, in the next fixture. But Wolves have since lost to Liverpool and Manchester City .
“We have just lost two on the bounce and need a win,” he said.
“Tranmere had a tricky start but have picked up and it’ll be difficult. I don’t want a giantkilling act - we want to win. I’m not going to Tranmere to start messing about.”
