A new monster was revealed this afternoon through the official Doctor Who twitter account, and the scary creature is pictured lurking in the shadows.
Barely visible through the dense clouds of smoke, it's unknown what form this monster will take but the robot-being is certainly sinister.
The series nine image was captioned: "What’s that in the shadows? New monster about to meet Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman in #DoctorWho Series 9"
Producers are remaining tight-lipped about all other aspects of the show, but it has also been revealed actor David Schofield is set to take a starring role.

Actor David Schofield is set to take a starring role in the next series
Appearing in not one but two up-coming episodes, the Merlin star will play the role of Odin. Fans will remember The Doctor came under fire from Odin's army in the second episode of the eleventh series, of the original Doctor Who.
It's rumoured the episodes will be called The Girl Who Died and The Woman Who Lived - and they are two of the most hotly-anticipated of the next series.
Of course, Maisie Williams of Game of Thrones and comedian Rufus Hound are set to star in the next series adding another celebrity edge to the re-boot show.
Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman will return to the show despite various rumours before Christmas saying Clara actress Jenna was set to make her exit.

And the latest Who news is the show will be made into a Hollywood blockbuster despite the misgivings of the writers who do not want to rush into making a movie, leaked Sony emails have revealed.
Danny Cohen, the Director of BBC Television, claimed that the popular TV series will become a film under an eight-year plan to keep the franchise alive.
But the show's team are resisting and are 'very hot under the collar' because they feel 'their position on it is not being listened to or accepted'.
They want to wait until the time is right and have made their feelings 'very clear' on the matter, one Sony email revealed.
