Star Wars Last Jedi novel reveals Leia's last words
Watching Episode 8 was hard enough knowing that it was the last time we would see Carrie Fisher on screen in her iconic role.
The upcoming novelisation looks set to break fans' hearts all over again. The book isn't out until the end of next week, but one fan has been live tweeting her reactions as she reads an advance copy.
Her comments about the General Leia storyline and they way it ends sounds absolutely heartbreaking and gives greater depth to the passing moments of Luke and his sister's reaction.
WARNING SPOILERS
The novel will be released just before the digital and home entertainment packages for The Last Jedi, which will include 14 deleted scenes. One of these includes a Luke and Leia moment but may anger fans after it shows Luke belittling one of Leia's most famous scenes from A New Hope.
Earlier leaks revealed the opening line of the epilogue and sent fans into a frenzy since it clearly mentioned that Luke had a "wife" back on Tatooine.
The latest tweets from Alicat give much more detail about what happens in the official Episode 8 novelisation, Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Expanded Edition) by Jason Fry.
She posted: "On the island Luke hears a familiar voice telling him to let go. (Who????!) Leia cries for Luke, Han, and Ben into Chewie when they hug at the end. 'It's just us now.'"

This refers to the final scenes of the Last Jedi when Luke tricks everyone and then fades into the Force. It clearly shows that Leia could sense her brother's passing. It also reveals that Leia has finally given up on her son and is grieving what he has become.
Fans will be desperate to know whether it was Obi-Wan, Yoda or even Luke father telling him to let go.
It also seems a shame that the movie didn't give more time for Leia's grief and allow the fans more space to process what had happened.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Expanded Edition) will be released on March 8 (Century: £20)
