Fifty Shades’ Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson get bad news ahead of final movie release
FIFTY SHADES FREED is just weeks away from release but there’s bad news for Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as they find themselves up for Razzies.
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson star in Fifty Shades Darker
Fifty Shades Darker, released last year, features prominently in the shortlist - announced today.
Dornan is up for Worst Actor and Johnson for Worst Actress, while “Any combination of two characters, two sex toys or two sexual positions” is shortlisted for Worst Screen Combo and Kim Basinger has a nomination for Worst Supporting Actress.
The movie is also up for Worst Picture, Worst Remake/Ripoff/Sequel, Worst Director and Worst Screenplay,
In fact, Worst Supporting Actor is the only field in which it is not nominated.
Dakota Johnson is up for Worst Actress once again
Dornan is in line to recollect Worst Actor
Fifty Shades of Grey, the predecessor to Fifty Shades Darker, was a big “winner” at the Razzies - honouring the apparent worst of Hollywood filmmaking - back in 2015.
The film tied for Worst Picture, and Dornan and Johnson won Worst Actor, Worst Actress and Worst Screen Combo.
The film also bagged Worst Screenplay, although Sam Taylor-Johnson was spared from ‘winning’ Worst Director.
Fans have argued that it's a curious result, given that - despite poor reviews for the films as a whole - Johnson and Dornan's acting has been generally well received.
