Terribly sad to hear Clifton James has left us. As JW Pepper he gave my first two Bond films a great, fun character.

Clifton first appeared in 1973’s Live and Let Die, where his redneck cop gets caught up in a Louisiana boat chase.
The actor returned a year later in The Man with the Golden Gun, where he bumps into Bond once again while on holiday in Bangkok.
The Sheriff then takes part in a comical car chase with 007, which is held as one of the franchise’s funniest scenes among Bond fans.
