JK Rowling responds to MAJOR Harry Potter ‘plot hole’ after being asked ‘every week’
JK ROWLING has finally spoken out on a Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets issue she’s seemingly been constantly bothered about for the last nine years.
JK Rowling answered a fan question about Harry Potter
Writing in a blog on her own website, the author answered a string of questions about the wizarding franchise and its spin-off, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.
One big conundrum surrounded the deadly basilisk, asking: “Why wasn’t the Horcrux inside Harry destroyed when he was bitten by the Basilisk in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets?”
She answered: “A Horcrux can only be destroyed if its container is damaged beyond repair.
“Harry was healed by Fawkes. Had he died, the Horcrux would indeed have been destroyed.”
Chamber of Secrets is the second entry in the Harry Potter series
The character remains hugely popular worldwide
She called the hot topic an “oldie but a perennial favourite” as she put the alleged ‘plot hole’ to bed once and for all.
Responding to Fantastic Beasts queries, she also told fans why Newt couldn’t use the famous Accio spell to retrieve his creatures from around New York City.
“‘Accio’ only works on inanimate objects,” she explained.
“While people or creatures may be indirectly moved by ‘Accio-ing’ objects that they are wearing or holding, this carries all kinds of risks because of the likelihood of injury to the person or beast attached to an object travelling at close to the speed of light.”
Fantastic Beasts came out last month
