Benedict Cumberbatch to star in new 'Doctor Strange'
Doctor Strange has had positive first reviews
The latest Marvel movie isn’t due to hit cinemas until next week, but the first reactions have been released by critics at early US screenings.
The official synopsis reads: “Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange. Who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions.”
“Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artefacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.”
While the consensus says it’s not Marvel’s absolute best, the critics certainly have tons of praise for the film’s special effects and entertainment value.
One critic said the film would be best viewed on magic mushrooms due to its trippy visuals

I saw Dr Strange. It is better than I could have ever hoped for. Among the very best Marvel films. It dazzles and entertains throughout.
