Essex Corp is the company owed by Nathaniel Essex aka Mister Sinister.
It was at this point in the commentary that Singer confirmed the X-Men super villain would be appearing in Wolverine 3.
Richard E Grant has been cast as an evil mad scientist, so it’s highly likely he’ll be playing Mister Sinister.
In the comics, Essex is a scientist from the 19th century who is given immortality by Apocalypse, after joining him as one of his Four Horsemen.
Essex Corp is responsible for creating a female clone of Wolverine called X-23, a character who could be replacing Hugh Jackman.
Deadpool 2 is connected as well. In Marvel's comic-book universe, Mister Sinister is responsible for creating Cable, the time-travelling cyborg, who is joining the Merc with a Mouth’s sequel.

In the commentary Singer revealed they were originally going to have a more direct reference to the character in the Merc with a Mouth’s sequel.
He said: “We did a tag that we really couldn't do, which I can stick on the DVD.
“It would have been for Deadpool, and unfortunately it wouldn't have had the right costume for the character they're going to add to Deadpool [2]. I don't want to give that away.”
