Tenet movie: Christopher Nolan's time-bending thriller kept a mystery even from CAST
TENET is Christopher Nolan's latest foray into the time-bending aspect of movie narratives and is being kept so tightly under wraps even the cast don't know what it's about.
Tenet: John David Washington stars in thriller
Tenet marks the latest of Christopher Nolan’s films to feature the great Sir Michael Caine. However, thought he might be in the film, the actor is none the wiser as to what it’s about or how the plot goes.
In an interview with The Hindu (via IndieWire) Caine said Nolan wouldn’t even give him the script for the film he’s starring in this time around.
He told the publication he had been limited to just his own pages of the script and had shot for only one day with one co-star.
“All I had was one day’s work and he gave me my pages,” he explained.
“I did my part and shot only with John David [Washington].”

“I haven’t heard anything since,” the British star added.
Caine is accustomed to Nolan’s secretive ways by now, having first teamed up with the director for Batman Begins back in 2005.
At the time, he was persuaded to come on board as Alfred Pennyworth for Nolan’s Batman trilogy after the director explained his extended, three-dimensional vision for the character whose relationship was almost that of a father-figure to Bruce Wayne (played by Christian Bale).
Meanwhile, Tenet is being described as an “event film”, but few details are known about what could be Nolan’s most experimental movie to date.

He previously revealed he was tempted to dump having a script altogether on his last release, Dunkirk, telling The Hollywood Reporter he felt he had “kind of mastered” the form of scripted drama.
With the esteemed director’s style becoming more and more ambitious, it’s anybody’s guess what Tenet could really look like when it arrives in cinemas.
It’s currently scheduled for release in July.
However, with several spring and summer releases already being postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, the cinematic landscape is somewhat unsure at the moment.

As of yet, there is no suggestion Tenet will be pushed back because of concerns surrounding COVID-19.
The upcoming thriller stars John David Washington and Robert Pattinson as spies.
The cast also includes Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia and Kenneth Branagh.
The synopsis calls Tenet an “action epic evolving from the world of international espionage”.
But, as is customary with Nolan, there’s an intriguing twist.
Somehow, the spies are involving in time travel or time bending, with the trailer hinting at the convoluted manipulation of time in the film.
Elsewhere, Caine has also worked with Nolan on The Prestige, Inception, Interstellar and Dunkirk, though the latter was in the form of a voice-only cameo.
Tenet is released in UK cinemas July 17.
