Captain Marvel: Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot breaks her silence on Brie Larson smash
CAPTAIN MARVEL has impressed audiences worldwide - including, it seems, Gal Gadot.
Captain Marvel: Brie Larson 'relieved' she has not spoilt film
The Carol Danvers solo movie has been compared frequently to Wonder Woman, because it is to Marvel what the latter was to DC: the respective studios’ long overdue first movie with a female hero as the sole titular lead. Wonder Woman was an ace for DC back in 2017, and now Captain Marvel is doing big business too. And it seems there’s absolutely no rivalry whatsoever between their leading stars Brie Larson and Gal Gadot.
Wonder Woman’s Gadot took to her Instagram Stories yesterday to praise the success of Captain Marvel.
It’s the first time she’s publicly spoken out on the film.
Sharing some fan art of the two characters, she wrote the simple caption: “I’m so happy for you sister! Congrats.”
User maxyartwork, who drew the image Gadot shared, posted a grab of the post to their own account, saying: “um hi so gal gadot wonder woman herself posted my art on her ig stories to support brie larson’s captain marvel.
“i can’t put into words how incredible happy i am not only for it being my art but for them supporting each other.
“i make this kind of art to bring women together and show how important female leads are for us. thank you.”
Larson has not yet publicly responded to Gadot, but Instagram was experiencing ongoing technical issues for much of yesterday.
Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins also spoke out in support of the movie, also sharing some fan-made artwork.

Captain Marvel comes ahead of Larson’s arrival in Avengers: Endgame - heralded by that tantalising mid-credits scene.
