Avengers 4 Endgame trailer: Is Chris Hemsworth’s Thor in PRISON?
AVENGERS 4 Endgame’s trailer may have revealed that Chris Hemsworth’s Thor is in prison.
Avengers: Endgame trailer drops for saga's EPIC finale
Marvel's Avengers Endgame trailer gave the first look at the surviving superheroes in the post-Snap world. However, there’s something particularly odd about the shot of Thor. The Asgardian King is shown sitting forward in civilian clothes and looking particularly sad. But unlike his counterparts, is he actually imprisoned?
As the shot starts there’s what looks like the outer rim of a glass prison. As spotted by EMPIRE, the pattern of the wall behind Thor looks particularly prison-like.
Certainly, there’s a couple of reasons Hemsworth’s god could be robbed of his freedom.
Firstly, having forged Stormbreaker – a new weapon to kill Thanos with – he failed to stop the Mad Titan from snapping his fingers and murdering half the universe.
Having hit Thanos in the chest, so he could talk to him and rub in his revenge while he died, Thanos said: “You should’ve gone for the head.”
With this in mind, perhaps Thor is being punished for his failure.
However, a more likely option is that after the Snap world governments are understandably wary of aliens.
This would explain an incarceration for Thor, and could potentially mean the same for Rocket Raccoon – the only surviving Avenger.
But with Ant-Man back, maybe he will spring them out of prison. After all, he’s used to his heists.
Talking of Ant-Man, it looks like he’s the key in the fight back against Thanos.
In the Endgame trailer notice, he’s arrived in the truck that has the Quantum Realm machine in the back seen in the Ant-Man and the Wasp mid-credits scene.
Clearly, Ant-Man and the Quantum Realm are key in Avengers Endgame, and with time vortexes it looks like the survivors will time travel and collect the Infinity Stones from previous MCU movies.
A scene before Ant-Man’s appearance in the trailer shows Captain America wearing his Winter Soldier costume, while aboard a ship. Could this be Hank Pym’s Quantum Realm vehicle?
Avengers Endgame will be released on April 26, 2019.
