Having rejected Guillermo del Toro’s proposed Hellboy III: Dark Worlds, a film that would have starred Ron Perlman, Dark Horse Entertainment decided to reboot the franchise.
Stranger Things star Harbour buffed up to play the comic-book character in the new movie.
Simply titled, Hellboy, the new film sees the demon take on Milla Jovovich’s Blood Queen who seeks to destroy all of mankind.
However, the first test screening reactions have leaked and it’s not sounding so good.
A few Hollywood insiders have tweeted about the first reactions alleging the film’s not good but Harbour’s performance as Hellboy is.
Daniel R tweeted: “The reactions from test screenings for Hellboy so far are...pretty bad. Which is a shame, I was really looking forward to it.”
KC Walsh replied: “Harbo[u]r tries his best but the dialogue, villain and story seem to be lacking.”
While Disney Insider’s Styler Shuler added: “Daniel heard right, I’ve also heard bad things about this film... Harbour is apparently pretty decent though.”

Meanwhile, the first trailer for Hellboy debuted at New York City Comic Con last month.
According to IGN, this is what footage was seen: “In it, David Harbour’s Hellboy heads to a crime scene and is shot by a SWAT officer accidentally.
“Hellboy yells, ‘I’m only your side!’.
“After that, there’s lots of quick flashes of dialogue and action.”
The description continued: “Hellboy’s adopted father Bruttenholm (Ian McShane) gives him his gun the Good Samaritan.
“Hellboy’s teammates (Daniel Dae Kim and Sasha Lane) enter a secret headquarters in London.
“Hellboy uses his smash hand to smash an elevator panel. Hellscapes are glimpsed, as is Milla Jovovich’s villainous character.
“The footage ends as Hellboy clutches his flaming sword with his flaming crown float[ing] over his head.”
Hellboy is released in cinemas on April 12, 2019.
