Mrs Doubtfire 25th anniversary REUNION with Pierce Brosnan: Here's what kids look like now
JAMES BOND star Pierce Brosnan has reunited with the Mrs Doubtfire kids for a 25th anniversary reunion of the Robin Williams classic.
Heartbreaking: Mrs Doubtfire deleted scenes
Back in 1993, Williams played Daniel Hillard, a divorced actor who pretended to be a female housekeeper so he can spend time with his kids.
While Mrs Doubtfire originally received mixed reviews, it’s gone on to become a cult classic and took an Oscar for Best Makeup.
Now 25 years on, the three former child actors have reunited with James Bond star Brosnan.
The former 007 was just two years away from starring in Goldeneye when he played their mother’s boyfriend Stu.
A picture of the four was posted on Instagram by one of the stars, Lisa Jakub. The snap included herself, Matthew Lawrence, Mara Wilson and Brosnan.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Mrs Doubtfire kids are now all in their 30s.
Lisa is 39, Matt is 38 and Mara is 31, while Brosnan remains just as suave as ever at 65.
Sadly Williams himself couldn’t make such a reunion since he died by suicide in 2014.
In a joint statement, producers Kevin McCollum and Bob Cohen, of Fox Stage Productions, said: “Mrs Doubtfire is such a beloved story, both laugh-out-loud hilarious and extremely moving.
Getting this team together and crafting Mrs Doubtfire for the stage has been pure joy. We can't wait to get into production.”
Originally a Mrs Doubtfire sequel was in the works as far back as 2001.
However, with a script not working in Williams’ view, he decided not to go ahead with it.
Nevertheless, in 2014, director Chris Columbus said he had had discussions about Mrs Doubtfire 2 with Williams.
But following his death later that year plans were permanently cancelled.
