PIERS MORGAN has been confused with Colin Firth just hours after informing his Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid that he would be taking a short break from the ITV show.

The 52-year-old revealed all about the awkward moment to his 6.37 million Twitter followers, after being mistaken for the Oscar winner while boarding a plane today.
Sharing a photo of himself smiling beside the Hollywood actor, the former Britain’s Got Talent judge wrote: “‘Good morning, Mr Firth!' - @British_Airways 1st Class check-in desk lady to me just now.
“THIS is why I always fly BA.”(sic)
Moments later, Piers made another attempt to point out the similarities as he posted more photos of them both.

Beside the upload, which showed both stars donning a black suit and tie, he told fans: “To be fair, we could be twins.”
Fans were quick to respond to the hilarious gaffe, with one agreeing: “Can see the likeness. Could be brothers.”
Another admirer gushed: “My personal opinion is that you are better looking than Mr Firth, safe journey.”

A cheeky Piers soon replied: “Oh come off it - Colin’s not that rough!”
Meanwhile, one follower wondered what the 57-year-old actor would think about the resemblance.
And, the ITV host soon revealed that he had spoken about the supposed similarities with the Kingsman star in the past.
The controversial columnist wrote: "He once told me he gets mistaken for me a lot, but not as much as he gets mistaken for Nick Clegg - which Colin said was 'much worse’.”

It came hours after the journalist told viewers that he would be temporarily absent from Good Morning Britain.
Speaking to his co-star Susanna Reid, Piers confirmed his departure, adding: “I’m going to film more for my serial killer series.”
