The two were both nominated in the same category, the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award, at the star-studded bash.
Holly Willoughby was up for a gong with Keith Lemon and Fearne Cotton who she stars in Celebrity Juice with.
However, her spouse of 10 years created the ITV2 programme while his production company owns Mrs Brown's Boys, which were both nominated for the award.
Speaking to OK! Magazine about the eventful evening, she divulged: “My husband and I were in the same category [the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award] because he created Celebrity Juice and his production company does Mrs Brown’s Boys.

“So actually, while Phil and I were head to head [in the TV Presenter category] my husband and I were also head to head tonight.”
Holly, 36, added: “He’s always right by my side, so it’s fine.”
On the night, the mother-of-three and Phillip Schofield scooped the Best Daytime Show gong for This Morning.
And the pair certainly celebrated their huge win in style as they still appeared a little worse for wear when whey turned up to film the daytime programme just hours later.

Phillip, 55, confessed to feeling nauseous watching his co-host chomp on a bacon sandwich and his croaky voice also left Holly in hysterics.
As well as their successful hosting roles on This Morning, Holly and Phillip also front the revamped series Dancing on Ice.
The popular duo first presented the figure-skating show together back in 2006 until Holly quit the show five years later.

And after initially meeting on the ITV programme, the pair have worked together for years and have came to know each other inside out.
Talking about their special friendship, Holly said: “I think you always learn, but we also have that advantage of knowing exactly what one another are thinking before it’s said.
Phillip piped in: “It’s not very often you’ll tell me something or I tell you something and you go: ’No!’ We know each other really well.
This Morning continues tomorrow on ITV at 10.30am and Dancing on Ice airs on Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
