'She always brakes too late' Ricky Gervais slams Caitlyn Jenner for Golden Globes remark
NOT ONE to shy away from a Twitter spat, Ricky Gervais has gone another round with Caitlyn Jenner on social media today.
The 54-year-old, who reprised his role as host at this weekend's 73rd Golden Globes, made a near the knuckle joke about Caitlyn's driving after she was involved in a fatal car crash last year.
The presenter brought up the accident in one of his compere speeches, pointing out that she "didn’t do a lot for women drivers".
At the Television Critics Tour in Pasadena California, the transgender star responded: “I think what I’m gonna do is call the Golden Globes and see if they need a new host for next year. And we’ll solve that problem.”
But it didn't stop there; Ricky couldn't resist poking fun and carried on their far from friendly conversation by posting a few more digs about her driving on Twitter.
The sharp-tongued comedian said: "Please, please, please let her host The @goldenglobes. Just don't let her drive."
He then reposted an article about the 66-year-old's response quipping: "At last. She always brakes too late."
Several people slammed him for his "disgusting" sense of humour, branding him a bigot for his comments.

One Twitter user even went so far as describing his comedy as a "wet toilet seat in a public restroom".
But the funny-man revelled in the negative attention he received from tweeters, laughing: "Don't offended people realise they are doing my marketing for me."
