SIR CLIFF RICHARD struggled to contain his jubilation as he returned to touring after a very turbulent year.

The veteran singer excitably greeted fans through his car's sunroof after leaving a concert in Newcastle last night.
The 74-year-old appeared to have put his historic sex abuse allegation firmly behind him, as he held his thumbs up at his fans who had lined the streets.
Cliff is marking his 75th birthday, which officially falls on October 14, with a special UK tour, which kicked off last month.
The Congratulations crooner, who celebrated a successful set at a nearby Italian restaurant, looked smart as he left in a black studded jacket and grey jeans.

However, his outing comes just days after it was reported that police investigating the claim made against him, were expected to hand evidence files to prosecutors within a fortnight.
It comes over a year after Cliff's Berkshire home was raided in August 2014, after they responded to a complaint to the Metropolitan Police's Operation Yewtree.
A source told the Sunday Mirror: "The police are desperate to avoid a situation where they can be criticised again.

"That is why they want to hand all the responsibility for what happens next to the CPS."

A spokesman for the CPS stated at the weekend: "We haven’t yet received a file. When we do, we will confirm it."
