OITNB's Ruby Rose faces online backlash after posing with boxer Floyd Mayweather
RUBY ROSE has come under fire today after sharing a snap of herself with Floyd Mayweather on Instagram.
The Orange Is The New Black beauty was blasted by fans after cosying up for a photo with the boxer, who previously pleaded guilty to domestic battery.
The 29-year-old, sporting a skull print top, captioned the image: "@floydmayweather the champ!"
The undefeated American, 38, beams as he puts his arm around the pretty actress, after they met for the first time at his Las Vegas gym.
But a large number of her 4.2 million followers were far from impressed by her new pal, and questioned why she was showing him support.
One wrote: "Sorry @rubyrose I gotta unfollow you now. @floydmayweather is a serial batterer of women and I can't support anyone who ignores that."(sic)
Two others stated: "I was hoping she would remove this [the picture] also. Unfollowing," and: "Unfollow. That's a shame."
Someone else added: "Very disappointing to see this… I lost a great amount of respect for you with this picture."
However, some supporters insisted that by just taking a picture, Ruby wasn't endorsing his actions.
Meanwhile the TV star, who portrays Stella Carlin in the Netflix series, couldn't resist tweeting her excitement as she flew into Sin City with a number of pals just hours earlier.
She wrote: "First ever private plane. Thanks @johnny. We made it kids"
However Ruby later added: "Some low key bruising. Fell on my hand figured I'd leave it to get better and now it's turning blue. Ouch. So I need more practice on the board haha.
