Chris Evans' ex Carol McGiffin doesn't know why she married DJ 'Didn't like him'
The former Loose Women panellist opened up about her short-lived marriage to the radio host.

Carol McGiffin was previously married to now Virgin Radio presenter Chris Evans. The former BBC host, 60, and former Loose Women star, 66, tied the knot in 1991. They were married for seven years until they split in 1998. In a new interview, the on-screen star claimed they should never have got married in a blunt admission.
Chris and Carol first met when she was working as a producer for Music Box in 1988 and Chris was doing a report on the network for his radio show in Manchester. But things went downhill for the couple with the pair getting a divorce seven years after they wed.
Chris went on to marry popstar and actress Billie Piper, but the two later divorced in 2007 and remain on good terms. He is now happily married to Natasha Shishmanian and they share four children together. While, Carol tied the knot with her husband Mark Cassidy in a secret ceremony in 2018.

Addressing her first marriage on Best magazine's, Suddenly Single podcast, Carol said, “I don’t really know why we got married. We shouldn’t have. For quite a lot of the time, I didn’t like him.”
The outspoken columnist previously opened up about the couple's relationship.
"He came into the office, all legs and bright orange hair - but it was the oh-so-confident swagger that got my attention," she wrote in her autobiography, Oh, Carol!
A year later, they ended up working at the same company in London and, when Chris got a gig producing shows for the BBC's Greater London Radio, he invited Carol to host the What's On slot for him.

They kissed on a boozy press trip to Dunkirk, and finally sealed the deal after a drunken night out in London.
Reflecting on her decision to marry him, Carol confessed on Loose Women in 2019 that she didn't even know why she did it. "I was just swept along. At the time I convinced myself I couldn't live without him," she admitted.
