BBC Strictly's Oti Mabuse flooded with support as she announces 'spicy' career news

Oti Mabuse once dazzled viewers on Strictly Come Dancing but fans are thrilled to support the star on her latest venture as a novelist.

Oti Mabuse has been received overwhelming support from fans after announcing her latest career move. The star will release her first novel, Slow Burn, in 2025.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star took to Instagram on Friday, October 11, to share the exciting news with her followers.

"I’m so excited to finally be able to share the news that I have a novel coming out! This has been a dream of mine! I adore reading fiction romance novels and am thrilled that I’ve been given the opportunity to write my own," she revealed.

The book, which Mabuse teased as “spicy, romantic, and full of dance,” will officially be released on September 11, 2025, and fans can already pre-order it.

“It’s available to pre-order now so head to the link in my bio to get your copy,” she added in her announcement.

This exciting revelation sparked an outpouring of support from Mabuse’s fans and celebrity friends alike. Fellow Strictly star Vito Coppola expressed his excitement, writing: "Oh Yessss I want to read it. This is very exciting," while Dianne Buswell commented simply: “Amazing.”

Mabuse’s followers were just as enthusiastic, with one fan saying, “Yesssssss momma! Congratulations!! Can’t wait to read! Xxx,” and another adding: “Wow! That’s brilliant Oti. Can’t wait to read it!”

Since leaving Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, after seven successful years as a professional dancer on the show, Mabuse has branched out into multiple new ventures. including TV presenting.

In addition to her growing TV career, she recently welcomed her first child, a daughter, in late 2023. Despite the demands of new motherhood, Mabuse has still found time to accomplish one of her lifelong dreams by writing her very first novel.

During her time on Strictly, Mabuse made history by lifting the Glitterball trophy twice—first with Kelvin Fletcher in 2019 and then with Bill Bailey in 2020.

Her vibrant personality and incredible dance skills made her a fan favourite as flans clamour to praise the star on her new venture. One supporter enthusiastically exclaimed, “Epic! Can’t wait to get stuck into this,” while another said, “This is HUGE!”
