Strictly's Tasha Ghouri issues emotional statement after live show sparks 'fix' backlash

Tasha Ghouri has furiously defended her stint on Strictly Come Dancing after performing in the first live show over the weekend.
The BBC series has been shrouded in fix claims after the Love Island star, 26, was included in the lineup alongside singer JB Gill, presenter Nick Knowles, and EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick.
Despite her background in dance, Tasha addressed concerns about having an unfair advantage over her co-star, confessing that she hasn't danced in years due to her career shift following her time on Love Island in 2022.
On Saturday, the dancer dazzled on the dance floor alongside her partner Aljaž Škorjanec, wearing a stunning blue dress accentuated by a sparkling cochlear implant. The pair managed to get second place on the leaderboard.
After her performance, Tasha took to her Instagram to break her silence as she said: “Woke up feeling such joy @bbcstrictly my first live show complete! I am still speechless, sure did feel emotional but was such a surreal feeling.
“What an honour to do it with you @aljazskorjanec! We went out there and danced like no one was watching, core memory I’ll remember forever. Thank you for being a great teacher and just fabulous.. GET IN!”
She added: “IM STILL LIKE PINCH ME CAUSE THIS IS A DREAM COME TRUE?!!! Who’s excited for next week because I am!”

It comes after Tasha recently opened up about how she isn’t afraid of the Strictly curse affecting her, as she is in a committed long-term relationship with her boyfriend Andrew Le Page, 29.
The pair met on Love Island two years ago and have been going strong ever since. The dancer told The Sun: "Andrew, to me, is the hottest man on this whole planet. I look at him and I’m like: ‘Yeah, that’s my man!’ Me and Andrew trust each other 100 per cent.
"It’s not a make-or-break for us. We’re going to breeze through this because we’re going to marry each other one day, you know? It doesn’t bother us at all. We didn’t have a discussion about ‘the Strictly curse’ because we trust each other. It doesn’t play on our mind.
