Jeff Goldblum addresses being labelled an 'idiot' on first day of Netflix's Kaos set
Jeff Goldblum takes on the lead role of Zeus in Netflix's series Kaos, which also features Billie Piper, Eddie Izzard and David Thewlis.

Jeff Goldblum has made a joke about his new role in Netflix's dark drama Kaos, which is described as a modern day contemporary retelling of Greek mythology. In the series, the 71-year-old takes on the lead role of Zeus, the king of the Greek gods.
While promoting the show, the 71-year-old said those on set branded him an "idiot" after he humorously mixed up his role. According to the Daily Mail, Jeff said: "I came the first day with The Cat in the Hat.
"I'd done my research and they said, 'Jeff, why are you rhyming everything in that whimsical way? It's Zeus, not Dr Seuss, you idiot'."
In an awkward moment during a radio interview last week, Jeff appeared to forget who his co-star Suzy Eddie Izzard was. Speaking with Scott Mills on release day, Jeff shared details about what fans can expect from the series and urged listeners to tune in.
He excitedly said: "I think you should see it. And, anybody within the sound of my voice, I tell you, this Thursday, they all come out at once, you can see them all at the same time, so there you go. I think you're going to get a big kick out of it."
Jeff then went on to list some of his co-stars, adding: "David Thewlis is in it and Stephen Dillane, great actors, yeah."
Scott went on to mention that Billie Piper was also in the series as well as Eddie Izzard.
In response to the latter being mentioned, Jeff awkwardly replied: "Who?", which prompted Scott to repeat the name.

It's not clear whether the Jurassic Park star forgot who Eddie was or if he simply didn't hear what the host said, but he went on to acknowledge who Scott meant seconds later.
After the presenter repeated the name, Jeff replied: "Eddie Suzy Izzard, yes, is in it. Fantastic.
"Billie Piper is in it. Debi Mazar, oh yeah, a whole bunch of people who are just fantastic."
Since its release, Kaos has been dubbed hilarious, profound and moving by film critics and fans.
On the platform X, one fan wrote: "OH MAN KAOS IS REALLY GOOD!! The writing is so solid, the outfits and costume design are so fun, and whoever picked that soundtrack has such taste."
A second added: "I just binged watched #Kaos - Outstanding series."
A third fan has also called for another series, adding: "Kaos is so amazing. Hopefully we get a season 2."
