Oasis slammed for 'unfair' ticket decision after prices confirmed

The highly-anticipated Oasis reunion tour will begin in Cardiff on July 4 next year, followed by shows in Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin.

Liam and Noel Gallagher confirm Oasis reunion for 2025

Oasis fans have been left unimpressed when applying for pre-sale ballot access to tickets. Former bandmates Noel and Liam Gallagher have recently announced an Oasis reunion tour for next summer.

Prior to this, the band had been notoriously embroiled in a decade-spanning feud, but this eagerly awaited reunion tour means that the pair will put their differences aside for the first time since 2009.

Naturally the interest in tickets has been extremely high, with a 24-hour pre-sale ballot launching this week. However, fans were left rather sur prised when they had to answer a ‘fan question’ to access the ballot.

The question, ' Who was the drummer in the original Oasis line-up?’, immediately went viral on social media and a number of Oasis followers expressed their dissatisfaction at having to answer the fan question.

Some fans hope that the pre-sale website will be able to identify those who momentarily left the ballot page to Google the answer on the internet.

In response to the backlash, experts at QR Code Generator explain the impact of answering ‘fan questions’ when acquiring sought after concert tickets.

Marc Porcar commented: "Ultimately, it goes without saying that pre-sale access does not guarantee access to the final product, particularly in the case of concert tickets.

"However, it seems unfair that dedicated fans are disadvantaged in pre-sale ballots, particularly when they are obliged to buy products beforehand in the hope of securing a ticket.

“In the case of the Oasis pre-sale ballot, there is a consensus that fairer techniques should be employed to identify long-term fans from the masses of people applying for pre-sale access. For example, it has been widely suggested on social media that those signed up for the Oasis newsletter should be placed at an advantage.

“It will be interesting to observe over the next few years whether the Oasis pre-sale access will affect how other companies arrange access to pre-sales in the future”.

Due to the popularity of the iconic duo, it has been widely reported that trying to obtain tickets for the 2025 summer tour will be chaotic, with many fans expecting to end up leaving empty-handed.

Tickets go on sale on Saturday 31 August at 9am.
