Fewer female contestants in the next series of Strictly Come Dancing means most of the popular male dancers have been benched, including one fan-favourite.

Kai Widdrington, who was partnered with broadcaster Angela Rippon in the last series, will not be paired with a celebrity this year, it has been claimed.
The sad news has left his loyal fans angry as they took to X in their droves to fume over the decision, and they called on Strictly Come Dancing to end.
The Sun reported that Kai would not be dancing on the series, which has since prompted backlash on X, formerly Twitter. One user wrote of the news, prompting outrage from fans online. "
One said: "Gutted Kai isn’t getting a partner this year. Hes an absolute sweetheart and surely is a great ambassador for #Strictly after the recent controversies."

A source said to The Sun: “Kai has become the first casualty of this year’s male-heavy line-up.
“With so few female celebrities, it was inevitable that some of the professionals would miss out on a pairing, but it’s a real blow that Kai is one of them."
