BBC Repair Shop's Jay Blades charged with 'controlling and coercive behaviour'
Jay Blades appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court earlier today to face charges.
BBC presenter Jay Blades has been charged with engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, West Mercia Police said. The host of The Repair Shop was in court in relation to claims against his estranged wife Lisa Zbozen.
West Mercia Police said Blades, 54, appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning and was bailed to appear at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, October 11.
According to court documents allegations surrounding physical and emotional abuse over his wife Lisa, 43.
In a statement, West Mercia Police said: “54-year-old Jason Blades of Claverley in Wolverhampton has been charged with controlling and coercive behaviour. He appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court this morning (Friday 13th September) and has been bailed to appear at Worcester Crown Court on Friday 11th October.”
Back in May Zbozen announced on her Instagram page that their relationship was over.

The couple married in the grounds of a stunning beachfront villa in Barbados on November 22 2022. They said “I do” in front of a selection of close friends and family who jetted out for the ceremony.
He is best known for his services to craft having appeared on the popular show since 2017, which sees members of the public take their family heirlooms which are often in tatters, to be restored by a team of experts.
Back in 2022, he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
At the start of the summer, Zbozen called time on their 18-month marriage and enlisted legal help. At the time it was said that she told friends she wanted a quick divorce.

Just weeks before their shock split Blade suffered a huge family loss after it was reported his relative was stabbed to death.
Around the time of the marriage breakdown, it was said that he decided to take some time out away from his busy work commitments.
Blades came off all social media and was meant to make a public appearance. At the time a spokesperson for the company said: “We wanted to confirm that as Jay Blades continues to take time out, he won't be attending the session as advertised at this year's Hay Festival. We're sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment that this may have caused and we hope you enjoy the rest of the festival.”
