Actress Charlotte Kirk says being in the running to be the next Bond girl has left her feeling “shaken and stirred”.

The Oceans 8 star, impressed the producers of the 007 franchise with her latest role in blood-soaked crime thriller Duchess.

Details of her casting call to follow in the footsteps of the last Bond girl, Ana de Armas, 36, have been leaked in the US. Ana was Daniel Craig’s sidekick in his last outing as the super spy, No Time To Die.

Charlotte, 32, who was born in Kent, says being linked to the Bond movies is a “huge honour”.

But she stressed her Bond casting is not a “done deal”, because bosses plan to screen test the actresses with likely new 007 Aaron Taylor Johnson.

She said: “I am sworn to secrecy, I have to be very careful what I say. I really like your readers, but I don’t want to have to kill anyone! Nothing is a hundred per cent, but it will just be an honour.”

Charlotte admitted that the leak of her casting call had put her in an awkward position because talking abou st any contracts or developments could cost her the job . “What can you do? But this is a new era. Ana set such a standard with girls for Bond girls, showing that they aren’t just this sexy object for Bond to play around with. “

Her self created action thriller Duchess, about a London woman dragged into a brutal life of crime, has showcased her action skills and screen appeal.

“Duchess is my vision of what I see in a Bond girl kick-ass powerful woman as opposed to just sexy and British. She can be fun and edgy and smart and flawed, because that’s what audiences want to see.

“They don’t just want to see perfection. It’s boring. No one wants to see that.”

Charlotte co-wrote Duchess with British director Neil Marshall, who is known for The Descent.
