Sir Rod Stewart has sparked fury among Donald Trump loyalists after lampooning the former President for his distinctively tanned appearance.

At a recent Las Vegas show, the legendary "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" singer, aged 79, didn't hold back in expressing his distaste for Trump.

Taking a jab at Trump's recent comments where he targeted Kamala Harris saying she "all of a sudden" turned "black", Sir Rod utilised a colossal projection showing Trump's evolution from pale to a deep hue of orange.

In a bold move during his Colosseum concert in Sin City, Rod paused his performance to showcase four contrasting photos of Trump on stage, illustrating the stark change in complexion of the controversial MAGA figurehead.

He took a direct swipe at Trump with an enormous caption over the image, quoting Trump's digs at Kamala and making a witty retort about his sudden change to an 'Orange person', reports the Daily Star.

Rod questioned the abrupt transition of colour, teasing: "I didn't know he was orange until a number of years ago, when he happened to turn orange."

Continuing to mock Trump's disregard for identity respect and his newfound preference for orange, Rod added, "I respect either one, but he obviously doesn't and now he wants to be known as Orange."

Implying it warranted investigation, he stated jestingly: "All of a sudden he made a turn and became an Orange person," adding "I think someone should look into that."

As of yet, Trump has not responded to Rod's taunts. Rod's stunt, however, did stir up controversy amongst Trump's devout followers on social media.

One conservative publication ran a headline suggesting Rod provoked a "mass concert walk-out", although conceding eventually that merely a handful of seats were left unoccupied amid the thousands present at his Las Vegas stint.

Trump supporters told Rod Stewart to "shut up" following his orange-hued mockery, with one irate fan commenting online: "Way to lose half your fans."

Other social media users advised the singer to "stay out of politics" and just "stick to singing".

However, many of Rod's followers applauded his Trump "roast" as "savage" and encouraged him to continue throughout his performances.

One supporter expressed: "Love you, Rod! ! Feel free to speak your mind on YOUR page! ! ".

Another chimed in: "I don't know why you have so many MAGA people on your Instagram, but don't even listen to them. Your post was funny as hell. He is soon to be orange marmalade toast! ! ".

His daughter Ruby, one of his eight children, captioned the photo with: "Kamala 2024."

In July, Trump rambled at the National Association of Black Journalists meeting in Chicago, falsely asserting that Kamala Harris had deceived voters about her ethnicity.

He wrongly alleged that the first black woman and Asian American US vice president had previously only acknowledged her Indian roots.

Trump claimed ignorance of Kamala's black heritage until she "all of a sudden, she made a turn and she went... she became a black person".
